Originally an old Inn, the property was derelict and has been sympathetically restored between 2011 and 2013, resulting in a light, modern interior and retaining all the exterior charm and character
The cottage has an ‘upside-down’ arrangement to make full use of it’s natural position tucked into the hillside. There is underfloor heating throughout the cottage which provides all year round comfort. In colder weather there is a wood burning stove.
The open plan arrangement combines a modern and fully equipped kitchen with a separate dining table. There is a kettle, toaster, electric induction hob and cooker, built-in microwave, dishwasher, washer/dryer and fridge with ice box. There are dishwasher and washing machine tablets along with washing up liquid, soap and tea towels. On arrival you will find tea, coffee, sugar and milk. There is a comfortable lounge area with 3 seater fabric and 2 seater leather settees and coffee table. We have a wood burning stove and provide a basket of wood for your convenience. You can curl up and read a book or magazine or watch the flat screen TV with built in DVD player. Or plug in your own device to listen to your one music choice. We provide a selection of books and DVD’s for your entertainment.
The dining room leads out onto the rear patio where there is a picnic bench for al fresco dining when the weather permits.
Bedroom 1 is a double with a metal double bed and king size duvet. There are bedside tables with overhead bedside lamps. The built-in wardrobe has plenty of hangers and there is a separate chest of drawers and large mirror.
Bedroom 2 is a twin. Each bed has it’s own bedside table and light and there is a wardrobe providing plenty of hanging space and 3 drawers below.
There is a dual flush WC and wash basin with ample storage space. The mirror is heated to de-mist and there is a shaving point built into the mirror. The bath has an overhead shower. We provide shampoo, conditioner, shower gel and liquid soap for our guest’s convenience.
There is a stoned patio leading directly from the kitchen. A picnic bench ensures you can make the best of al fresco dining on sunny days. The grassed areas blend into the beautiful rolling hills where you can watch the sun set over Shutlingsloe.
There is an enclosed patio that provides a quiet area to sit and read a book or just relax and enjoy the views.
We have ample off road parking for 2 vehicles.
